Major Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

He said that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
